Accessibility Office Hours

Did you know that the disability community is made up of 1.3 billion people with an estimated $13 trillion in disposable income? As such it's my belief that accessibility is critical to the long-term success of any business.

Thus, I've decided to open up my Accessibility Office Hours to product teams and organizations outside of Shopify.

If you're looking for digital accessibility tips or curious about the accessibility of a design or component that you're working on, let's review it together. If you're a designer at a small firm, an engineer at a large org, or a project manager leading a team, these sessions are for you.

These are 30-min sessions to ask questions about digital accessibility in real-time. You'll receive insight into:

  • Design best practices
  • Accessibility in HTML and CSS
  • Keyboard accessibility
  • ARIA implementation
  • Focus management
  • Form accessibility
  • WCAG conformance
  • ADA compliance support
  • Assistive technology/usability review
  • Metrics gathering and review
  • and more!

I've had great success working this way within Shopify. Notably, our Free Themes and Checkout product teams have been my primary focus for the last 6 years. These two product spaces are dynamic, high impact, and highly accessible by default.

Prevent accessibility issues from shipping to production. Save your business time and money. Increase your public perception and product market reach from day-one. Accessibility is good for business.
